Media Center Resources:

 

Ø     Our collection consists of over 7,000 items that are available for students to check out or use within the Media Center.

Ø     We have several sets of encyclopedias, including Science, Health and Social Studies series as well as general Encyclopedias, which are used for student research.

Ø     Our computer lab consists of 25 desktop machines, as well as 10 laptop computers. All our computers run the Windows XP Professional operating system. We use Microsoft Office 2003 and other educational software as part of our technology curriculum.

Ø     The laptop computers can be requested by teachers and used in the classrooms when they have special projects that require extra computers. The laptops can be wirelessly connected to our network and the Internet for enhanced student productivity.

Students and families of Pennoyer School now have access to Encyclopedia Britannica, an on-line encyclopedia that is written at many different reading levels, from Elementary through college. To access this resource from home just go to www.pennoyerschool.org and find the link on the LRC page, or you can go to www.school.eb.com You can stop by the LRC to get the user name and password, this valuable resource is available to all Pennoyer families.
